TED

TED is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to discovering, debating and spreading ideas that spark conversation, deepen understanding and drive meaningful change.

TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, but today it spans a multitude of worldwide communities and initiatives exploring everything from science and business to education, arts and global issues.

TEDx

In the spirit of discovering and spreading ideas, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized and not for profit or fundraising.

TEDxSammamish Women amplifies the voices, stories, and ideas through the lens of women’s experiences.  Through a curated lineup of live speakers and interactive activities, we create space for ideas that deepen  community connection, spark dialogue, and inspire meaningful transformation. Rooted in the Pacific Northwest and guided by the TEDx framework, our nonprofit event is independently organized, volunteer-led, and committed to elevating conversations that help cultivate worthiness and ignite personal and collective growth.

TEDx Organizer

A Pacific Northwest native, Jennifer Cooper was granted a TEDxSammamish Women license on February 25, 2025. It started with her own dream to deliver a TED talk some day and quickly morphed into applying to become an organizer and making many women’s dreams come true.

Being laid off in the Fall of 2024 was devastating and unexpected. And through the experience, she’s thriving and living her best life. She wants to inspire women through TEDxSammamish Women to cultivate their worthiness and create the lives of our dreams.
